Best Western Coquitlam Inn Goes Green
[METRO VANCOUVER, April 1, 2009] – The Best Western Coquitlam Inn Convention Centre knows its cool to care about planet earth and is pleased to announce they were recently awarded a 3-Green Key “ECOmmodation” rating by the Hotel Association of Canada. The property is the first hotel in the Tri Cities to be recognized for showing national industry leadership and commitment to protecting the environment through a wide range of “green” policies and procedures.

The green initiative at the Best Western Coquitlam Inn includes such practices as the recycling of toner cartridges and batteries; using blue recycle bins in all guestrooms and offices; and using energy efficient lighting. Additionally, eco-friendly practices in the hotel’s guestrooms include low flow shower heads, a linen and towel reuse program and digital thermostats.
The Hotel’s environmental initiative also include a number of external programs including the donating of unwanted material such as furniture and bedding to local shelters while diverting waste from landfills.
